Urbanminers, LLC , a Salvage & Building Deconstruction Company opened their new warehouse/ showroom

 

Urbanminers, LLC is a new company that salvages materials for reuse. We engage in conventional salvage of contents and building elements and also remove entire houses by dissembling them. Up to 85% of the materials of a typical house can be reused or recycled. Materials including plywood, framing, brick, siding, windows & doors are brought to the warehouse and sold to the general public. We also salvage and consign trim & moldings; windows, doors, light fixtures, appliances, hardware, antiques – old bottles, furniture, architectural elements and the usual array of household

furniture, glassware, books, recordings, & electronics. We will have a 1,2,3, and 5 dollar box for “finding your own bargains”.

Urbanminers, LLC is a Connecticut Limited Liability company dedicated to reducing the waste stream and supplying customers with quality used products at reasonable prices. Urbanminers, LLC was founded by Joseph DeRisi, a conservationist who received the 2007 Outstanding Citizen Conservationist of the Year Certificate of Achievement from the Southwest Conservation District ,Inc. He has a masters degree in Resource Management Administration from Antioch University New England, experience in the construction trade including a year and a half building with Habitat for Humanity & a certificate in deconstruction from Yestermorrow school in Vermont; and six years as an Environmental Analyst with the Southwest Conservation District. Besides being the founding member and General Manager of Urbanminers, LLC, he is the part time Watershed Coordinator for the Norwalk River Watershed Initiative ( as of 1-07).
