urbanminers, LLC formed from the vision of Joseph DeRisi, who earned his Master of Science in Resource Management and Administration in 2000 from Antioch New England Graduate School’s Environmental Studies Department in Keene, New Hampshire. Joe also holds a certificate in deconstruction from the Yestermorrow School in Warren, Vermont.
Joe has worked locally as an environmental analyst and conservationist, and enjoyed a life-long passion for salvaging, re-using and selling “urban treasures” for hobby and business. He formed urbanminers, LLC in 2007 to bridge his collecting and urban “mining,” with his professional expertise as an environmentalist, community builder, former construction contractor, and building deconstruction expert.
urbanminers provides cutting edge, environmentally smart services in the areas of building deconstruction and materials salvage to residential property owners and commercial enterprises regionally. Our offices, showroom and warehouse in Hamden, Connecticut, are open Tuesday through Saturdays. Our web based store sells salvaged, consigned and other used goods all day, every day at www.urbanminers.com.
